Dust Mite Encasings - A possible imagine for Your Morning Allergy Symptoms

How To Fight Bed Bugs :

Are you waking up in the morning with allergy symptoms such as headache, sneezing, running nose or clogged sinuses? If this is happening normally every morning, then I would suggest visiting your doctor because you are probably allergic to something nearby you.

As the dust mites cover pretty much all the area nearby you while you sleep, one of the tasteless allergies with these symptoms is allergy to dust mites.

What are dust mites?

How To Fight Bed Bugs :Dust Mite Encasings - A possible imagine for Your Morning Allergy Symptoms

Dust mites are small, hardly visible bugs about one-third of millimetre big. As they are feeding of human skin, such as flakes from dead skin, they become quite comfortable to live nearby humans. They live only from two to ten weeks in average, but can lay millions of eggs and can spread quickly. The most tasteless places you would find them are:

- Mattresses, bedding, duvet and pillows
- Carpets and upholstery
- Sofas and sofa pillows

Diseases and allergy to dust mites.

These creatures cannot cause imminent danger by directly threatening your life, but can significantly increase chances of nasty diseases such as asthma or long-term allergies. They can also cause your skin to itch and eczema.

Dust mites prevention.

As these creatures spread very quickly, the best way for arresting is constant eradication and hygiene. There are many ways how to get rid of them naturally.

1. Vacuum cleaning of carpets, sofas and upholstery.

The remains and other dirt produced by mites might cause allergy reactions. Breathing this dirt can clog your lungs, too. In order to get rid of all this dirt, you need to vacuum all places of potential nearnessy regularly.

2. Expose them to greatest temperatures for a inevitable period of time.

Dust mites have hard time to survive in greatest temperatures. Exposure for longer than 60 minutes is killing them effectively. They will not last in any climatic characteristic below 0 or above 60 degrees of Celsius. Therefore:

- Do your laundry at the top climatic characteristic as possible.
- Put your bedding in tumble drier after being washed.
- Iron your pyjamas with steam.
- Put your clothes and bedding exterior on frost during cold winters.

3. Use anti dust mite mattresses, duvet and pillows.

Modern technology gives us a hand by fighting these creatures with anti dust mite equipment. These will provide a fence and protection by preventing the allergen transfers and exposure.

If you are feeling the similar symptoms every morning, then something is not alright. This is a good time to get started. By thorough cleaning of your household environment as described above, you can legitimately prevent suffering from these nasty creatures and diseases.

sponge control - control The Pests That Plague Your Dog

How To Fight Bed Bugs :

No matter how wholesome your dog is, they face an practically constant charge from both external and internal parasites such as fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, mites, lice, heartworms (spread by infected mosquitoes), tapeworms (often obtained by ingesting an infected flea), roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and even small protozoa. Just what risk do these insidious pests pose to your canine companion though, other than the definite itchy skin that can result from the bite of a flea or mosquito? The list of inherent diseases and corporeal symptoms can include, but not be small to, the following:

· Babesiosis

· Colorado Tick Fever

How To Fight Bed Bugs :sponge control - control The Pests That Plague Your Dog

· Ehrlichiosis

· Giardia

· Haemobartonellosis

· Lyme Disease

· Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever

· Tick Paralysis

· Tick-Borne Relapsing Fever

· Tularemia

· West Nile Virus

· Anemia (i.e. A insufficiency of red blood cells and/or hemoglobin which carry oxygen throughout the body)

· Decreased lung function

· Encephalitis (i.e. Inflammation of the brain)

· Flea allergy dermatitis

· Hair loss

· Heart damage and/or failure

· Joint swelling and pain

· Numerous gastro-intestinal problems including vomiting, diarrhea, and loss of appetite

· Skin infections

· Suppression of the immune system

· Weight loss

· Death

When finding at the "big hanger-on picture" from this angle, it can all seem terribly frightening. However, the healthier your dog is, the great they'll be able to defend themselves against such attacks and/or to rebound from any symptoms or ailments that they do acquire. Healthier dogs also seem to be "less attractive" to such pests and, therefore, less likely to be attacked by them in the first place.

The other good news is that there are a wide range of weapons to ward off and/or to fight such pests and their connected condition risks. Such products often come in the form of healthful and "natural" collars, dips, foggers, oral drops/pills, powders, shampoos, "spot-ons," and sprays.

While many claims and testimonials are made pertaining to the effectiveness of such medicated products, one must take into notice the inherent risks that are connected with their use. Risks can be minimized by using the least amount needed for the shortest length of time deemed indispensable (e.g. Spacing medicated flea treatments six weeks apart instead of four and only using them during the "warm season," not year round). Such risks can include, but not be small to, the following:

· Any chemical-based hanger-on product, either a flea collar or a pill, can cause an allergic reaction fluctuating from mild (e.g. Skin rashes, hair loss) to deadly (e.g. Epileptic seizure).

· Chemical-based hanger-on products can be very harsh on the toxin-filtering kidneys and liver and can lead to their eventual failure.

· Chemical-based hanger-on products can cause a range of autoimmune disorders whereby the body begins attacking itself instead of the offending organism.

· The overuse of any chemical-based hanger-on product can lead to the offending hanger-on developing a resistance to such a product.

What's a dog owner to do then to safe their beloved furry friend from an onslaught of parasites and their connected condition risks? How about taking a more natural approach, one that's ordinarily far safer, much less expensive, often times more effective, and that focuses on also controlling your dog's environment instead of just "attacking" your dog directly? These are just a few of the options you have when waging such a holistic-based war:

· Ants - allow these "lesser of the environmental evils" to survive as they feed on flea eggs and larvae

· Boric acid products - consist of a powder that attacks the outer "protective layer" of the offending hanger-on - most often flea larvae - by drying it out; can be applied to your dog's "environment" (e.g. Bedding, carpeting) and directly on them too, if used cautiously (the dust can be irritating to the lungs)

· Diatomaceous earth products - consist of a powder made from the hard outer shell of single-celled algae (i.e. Diatoms) that ordinarily works in the same manner as boric acid; can also be added to food to help rid your dog of roundworms and other discrete parasites

· Essential oils - including eucalyptus, cedar, and rosemary

· Flea combs - should be used daily and any fleas that are found should be "drowned" in soapy water

· Flea traps - use light and/or heat to capture fleas in water or on "sticky traps"

· Herbal products to be applied topically - including collars, powders, sprays, shampoos, and towelettes that consist of such herbs as citronella, eucalyptus, lavender, lemon, neem, and pennyroyal

· Herbal products to be ingested - including powders, pills, and liquid drops (e.g. Tinctures that are made much like flower essences but that are extracted using grain alcohol instead of water); consist of such herbs as black walnut green hulls, cloves, and wormwood (the composition of those three herbs is said to be effective at killing more than one hundred species of parasites, including all of the discrete "developmental stages")

· Homeopathic remedies - including Chenopodium, Cina, Filix mas, Sulphur, and nosodes for heartworm

· Mosquito dunks and/or drops - consist of a plainly occurring bacteria that is only toxic to definite insects; can be added directly to bodies of mosquito-laden water (e.g. Birdbaths, ponds)

· Natural predators - put up purple martin bird houses and bat boxes to aid these parasite-eating predators

· Nematode worm products - can be normally applied to your yard as they feed off of flea larvae and other outdoor pests (e.g. Grubs)

· Ultrasonic "repelling" devices - including collars and combs

· Vitamins and supplements - including B vitamins, brewers yeast, garlic (in moderation), and indispensable fatty acids

· Vacuum your home often and immediately arrange of its contents covering of the home

· Wash your pet's bedding weekly in very hot, soapy water
The use of such "natural" parasite-controlling products and practices will likely have fewer negative side effects on your dog than if you use their chemical-based counterparts. Your own home environment will also likely have less "toxic residue" than if you used chemical products.

Most holistic veterinarians and other holistic practitioners will tell you that they believe the use of chemical-based hanger-on products will admittedly weaken your dog's immune system, thereby doing more harm than good to their extensive condition and well-being. In such a compromised condition condition, they'll admittedly be more vulnerable to a parasitic attack. Many holistic practitioners might also tell you that the risk posed by a habitancy of parasites is far less than the risks connected with using "toxic" operate products.

Your holistic condition care team will instead likely encourage you to focus on providing your dog with the best environment you possibly can - high-quality food, quarterly exercise, reasoning stimulation in a stress-free home, and minimal exposure to Western medicines - and to use "natural" products, homeopathic and herbal remedies when needed to operate parasites. The result just might be that your dog will fend great in the "battle of the bugs" than if they are repeatedly dosed with potentially deadly chemicals.

Whatever method of hanger-on operate you chose for your dog, focus on prevention, plan your attack, and be consistent with implementing such a plan. It's plainly far easier to forestall such things as a flea or worm infestation than it is to get rid of one and to clear up the lingering corporeal effects on your beloved canine companion.

Holistic arrival to healing

How To Fight Bed Bugs :

Physical Illness

Even when we take the best care of our selves sometimes illness still gets us. It could be a stomach bug, head flu, chest cold, Uber Self is not feeling 100% and absolutely not performing at Uber Self level. Now what? Have you ever tried to fight off sickness? Just go about your normal run or workout anyway, your normal day, your job, tend to the kids and sometimes this surely works, especially if the only symptom is a minor cold.

Now I am not suggesting you try this next time you have the coarse cold or any other illness. I have tried to do this. I have learned that while periods of illness, it is a time to learn, grow, renew and heal. And reflect on which area of your life may be out of equilibrium - is there an issue or option you need to be totally still and listen for the answer? Why did this illness come upon you? Did you feel symptoms of illness weeks or days before? Or did these symptoms seem to charge you out of no where? It is easy to get caught up in life and become unaware of the thoughts we send out to the universe and thoughts we have maybe we've been a bit unaware we are saying. For example, "I wish I could have more time for reading, gardening, home correction projects, etc". Or maybe you've said "I wish I had nothing to do". Well, now you got what your thoughts created! That is why you are now here, feeling blah, can't go to work now and worse, you can't even go workout or run because you feel so terribly sick. Here is your time you requested to do anyone you had belief about. Does any of this sound slightly familiar? I am sure we all can report to these thoughts because we all have felt overwhelmed and overworked in life at times. It is important not to be too vital or too judgmental on your self right now and focus on more motivational techniques to help you feel your Uber best and think your Uber best!

How To Fight Bed Bugs :Holistic arrival to healing

A more sure way would be to rephrase your thoughts such as, you would like to have more time to orchad or undertake some home correction projects. For example, you could say to yourself, "I love my life and all I do each day, from my work, to time with friends and family, to my workouts and I would love to include a half day on Saturday this week for home improvement. I wonder what the best solution would be for me to allow some time for this in my schedule. How can I equilibrium my time to allow all the things I would like to do?" This is a much more sure arrival and will bring clarity to you. Once you've asked yourself this it is time to be sick person and be open to the right message or right retort to be shown to you.

Another guess you may have become ill is you may want more sleep! Your body needs rest. I think this is one area many of us would admit to. Listen to your body and if sleep is needed, go to bed an hour early or even half an hour early the next few evenings. Sleep is truly the best treatment you can nourish your mind, body and soul with. Always give in to a quick shut-eye 20 tiny nap or turning in a half hour early on sure evenings or sleeping in a half hour on some mornings. This can be your body's method of helping you fight off a flu, cold or assisting you in building your immune health, durableness and durableness for a major event about to happen in your life with work, your personal life, or yet one more race. Listen to your mind, body and soul. It truly does know best. We just need to be still sometimes and slow down long adequate to listen.

And of course, over training can lead to illness. Over training is also stress on your immune system. We need to equilibrium our workouts and our busy schedules in life.

Whatever the guess may be why you did get sick, this window of time can be used therapeutically and allow you to soon accomplish again at Uber Self Level.

Here are some Therapeutic Methods I have suggested to clients when they are sick:

Reflective Thoughts based on Symptoms of Illness - A good example of this would be a fever. A fever can be your body's way of sweating out frustrations, anxiety, things that are "toxic" in your life and not working. This can be seen as a wholesome way of dealing with the subconscious feelings. Allow your body to rest and recoup. This time can be a clearing out and cleaning process so you can gain force to tackle anyone may come your way. A fever is not a bad symptom -this is a sign your body is trying to heal itself, physically and also on other levels by sweating out what is not good for you in your life. Think about it. Your body is smart. It knows what is good for it and will tell you so. Your body also knows what is not good for you and will tell you so. You can identify the inequity in the good and the bad -when something is good for your body, you feel an uplifting feeling, maybe even a warm feeling inside, a happy state of mind. When something is not going to be good for your body, regularly a hesitant feeling will come over you or a confused state of mind, sometimes even a sharp gut warning to not share in something. Sometimes this could be a belief or phrase "stop! You will be playing with fire" or "please don't do this. You know how this will make you feel".

Reach out to those who are supportive and sure influences in your life - Call a friend or house member, talking on the phone is good. This can lift your spirits. Just make sure to taste the right sure people!

Read sure e-mails/cards/letters -go back and read some of your sure e-mails or letters you may have received. I keep a special folder for these and you may already do this. If you don't, I propose you start to. The inspirational e-mails come in handy while times of illness. You can also keep these and re-send to friends and house who may need them when they are sick. Also, catching up on e-mails while this time to friends and house is a nice alternative to talking on the phone. This therapeutic arrival can help lift your mood and help you to recover faster.

Rest & Recoup - Sometimes sleep is the best treatment when ill. Usually, it is for me. I know that sleep helps heal my body and helps me recover faster. And if sleep is what your body is telling you it needs, then sleep. Depending on your illness, if it is the full blown out flu along with a fever, then sleep is the best thing to do along with abundance of fluids.

Relaxing Techniques - Read a good book or re-read a favorite, watch a great movie or an old beloved movie, listen to some uplifting music or music that allows you to relax and surely fall asleep to. The right rhythm in the music can be very relaxing, meditative and soothing that opens up channels of sure thoughts and sure emotions which can lead to faster healing.

Rejuvenating Techniques - Sit in a sauna or take a warm bath and use some aroma therapy such as scented bubble bath (eucalyptus is very rejuvenating and healing). Visit an Acupuncturist or a Chiropractor this keeps the body in alignment and wholesome blood flow.

In times of injury or illness, allow this time to be a medical that will eventually take you to a higher level in your strength, knowledge, wisdom. Have faith that you will heal, listen and trust your body, allow yourself deep soul searching.

I do not claim to know all the answers on healing. I have come to know that a Power greater than me is responsible for my healing, the potential to heal is within and through out every cell of my body. I have found that for me, a sure attitude and patience has carried me through a faster saving and that focusing on the studying process of what I can learn from this injury, has provided me with more inner-awareness and force to arrival my life with.

manufacture a Mother's Day Memory

How To Fight Bed Bugs :

"Of all the proprietary of women, the most is to be a mother." Lin Yutang

When Anna Jarvis stood at her mother's gravesite nearly one hundred years ago, she vowed to fabricate a day to honor not only the mother in her own life--but to honor mothers everywhere. The activism she observed firsthand in her mother's fight to improve the living conditions of those battling poverty motivated her to carry on an activist task of her own: celebrating mothers who had come before her, mothers in her own lifetime, and mothers whose times had not yet come.

The tradition of giving white carnations to mothers was started just a couple years later, and within nine years--with the U.S. Congress passing a joint resolution--Mother's Day was officially established to celebrate a woman's role in the family.

How To Fight Bed Bugs :manufacture a Mother's Day Memory

The holiday was never to have been made into a commercial brouhaha. Indeed, Anna Jarvis would be rolling over in her grave with the success of Hallmark's Mother's Day revenues alone. For she desired that the day be illustrious with sentiment rather than with profit; that flowers and hand-written notes of appreciation be given away.

So just how can we celebrate Mother's Day as a holiday with those we love--and yet honor the wishes of its founder? How can we encourage others to express loving sentiments to us--rather than encourage them to buy loving sentiments? And where does chocolate fit into the Mother's Day equation for crying out loud?!?

Get started:

Encourage handmade. I have saved every one of the handcrafted cards my children have ever made me. Cute as they are upon presentation, they are downright priceless a decade later. Call me a sentimental schmuck: the same hand that wrote my first Mother's Day card is now filling out college applications. Don't ever let your kids buy commercial Mother's Day cards. Make sure they know where the stamps, ink pads, stickers, glitter (I know I know), glue, colored markers, art pencils, and blank writing materials are stored in your home. And encourage their creativity.

Encourage home baked. There is, after all, nothing quite like breakfast in bed. Especially on Mother's Day. It reads: "I adore you, my love. Stay in bed awhile. Relax. You've worked so hard." Or something like that. You get the idea. Encourage your entourage to treat you with home baked coffeecake, cinnamon rolls, biscuits, or buttered toast; they'll be extra because your hubby and children made them just for you. Even if they whacked the can against the kitchen counter to yield those slight tasties, go with it and relish the moment.

Encourage home cooked. But only if he can do it. I mean, seriously, if the guy can't boil water, don't expect him to yield a gourmand six-course dinner. Much great to go to your local diner. But if he becomes inspired to cook for you--as mine did only once in twenty-two years--then go for it. Relax on your beloved upholstered chair and let him go crazy in your kitchen, if just for a day.

Encourage hand picked. Ok. It's a stretch. But expensive roses are not for everybody, you know. While a bouquet of hand-picked wild flowers may or may not cut it for me, a bunch of daffodils would. As would a particular lovely hyacinth. If the scent of spring flowers wafting through your home arouses your aesthetic sensibilities, then tell hubby that this year, you'd prefer sprouted bulbs.

Get brilliant:

For those of us too addicted to our society's conceived notions of the proper care and feeding of mother on Mother's Day, here are a few more options.

Go fancy. Leave the kids at home and let hubby treat his queen to the most excellent cafeteria he can afford. Mother's Day comes but once a year, after all. Get gussied up, dressed up, and psyched up for a night out on the town. Splurge big-time. No holds barred. It'll fill your tank for months.

Go custom. Encourage hubby to treat you to something that you undoubtedly undoubtedly want. Granted, the elm wood Venetian easel with a lovely oil end that I've asked for might not turn you on, but it is what I undoubtedly undoubtedly want for Mother's Day this year. My oil paintings have taken over our major living areas and I need other easel. But the explore would say: you could probably care less for that. What do you dearly desire? Put a bug in hubby's ear and encourage him to surprise you on Mother's Day. A spring outfit? Cute handbag? New perfume? Pedicure? It's easy. Just let your kids frame it out and they'll pass it on to the wallet-holder in no time.

Go chocolate. It's always the answer. I don't care what the request is. The predilection for chocolate is nearly universally human--as proven by at least seventeen university studies--and carries back, by some estimates, to more than 75,000 years. Early explorers in South America used it as currency and sold it in solid bars. My beloved is as bitter and dark as you'll ever find, with 85% cocoa. Yours might be sweet milk chocolate. Indulge. But be careful. You don't want to die from chocolate-induced coma on Mother's Day.

Go easy. Most of all, you need a break on Mother's Day. Put your feet up. Get comfortable. Relax with a book. Or a magazine. Allow yourself the dizzying liberation of being downright lazy for just one day.

Most importantly, love the ones you're with. My guess is they are the very ones who made you a mommy in the first place.

Happy, happy Mother's Day!

Facing a question withe these pests leads one to ask how to get rid of bed bugs. Although Ddt did kill these bugs from the Us earlier this century, now they are back and more able to resist our chemical attacks.

Studies of the genetics of bed bugs found in areas withe whole outbreaks, by both the University of Massachusetts and Seoul National University have discovered very spirited developments in the bugs that cut the effectiveness of thee tasteless chemical treatments for the bugs.

Previous using other pyretheroid insecticides was how to get rid of bed bugs -one specifically known as deltametherin, have been used to treat thee condition of these pests. The chemicals are made to invade the nervous systems of the insect, and then successfully eliminating resulting in their death.

They appear to be developing immunity to thee poisons we are using to fight them. There is a porous surface on the outer membrane surrounding these neurons or nerve cells. The electrical nerve impulses were once view to be produced in the pores are in fact produced in sodium channels. Pyrethroid toxins interrupt these kinds of nerve impulses, the use paralyzing and finally eliminating the nasty critters.

Since they have evolved to be less sensitive to chemical pesticides commonly used, their neuronal pores no longer react to their toxins, and some, such as a habitancy in New York City are now 264 times more unyielding than non-mutated bedbugs to deltametherin, for example. This challenge has hampered the effects of discovering a thriving method on how to get rid of bed bugs.

In effect, this particular bed bug rehabilitation does not help eliminate the bugs; because the process which used to be over within minutes now lasts some days providing adequate time and a conducive climate for the bugs to multiply.

A habitancy of the bed bug in Florida was also tested in an exertion to see how far this mutation has spread. These bugs, having not been mutated, and are easier to get rid of bed bugs from an area than their mutated counterparts. In these mutated bugs the nervous law is insensitive to toxins and reveals bugs resistance in these supplementary experiments was not due to being able to process the toxins more easily.

Sequenced genes which are straight connected to thee operation of sodium ion channels are found in the neurotoxin unyielding of the pest and the same genes in other insects but not in, those bugs which are unmutated. This has been found by researchers using Molecular technology.

Getting Kids Out of the House and Back Into Nature

How To Fight Bed Bugs :

"There's a real and basal shift away from nature" says a up-to-date study by the University of Illinois. "From backyard gardening to mountain climbing, outdoor activities are on the wane as people around the world spend more freedom time online or in front of the tube," the study concludes. As any parent knows, hanging around exterior often can't compete with the latest Wii game or website. But getting kids out of the house and back into nature doesn't have to be a fight. With a few new ideas you'll find that your whole family enjoys the great outdoors.

Stay close -
Reconnecting with nature can start by encouraging your kids to feed the animals which already visit your backyard. Stringing popcorn and dried fruit provides both embellishment and nourishment. Birdbaths attract the birds, while feeders keep them coming back for more. With a field guide to local birds nearby, every person will have fun identifying the many visitors.

You can help your kids "create" nature by giving them their own organery area and helping them select plants which will attract butterflies (many have "butterfly" right in their name). Common flowers, such as Bee Balm, Aster, Yarrow and Lilac, are also great at attracting butterflies.

Gregg Steiner is the president of Green Life Guru, which advises businesses and home owners on how to live a "greener" life. He sees organic vegetable gardening as one way to get kids back into nature. "It helps to teach them where food comes from and that food doesn't just magically appear at the grocery store," says Steiner. In his experience, children enjoy planting the seeds, pulling the weeds, and especially, "watching something they worked on grow into something beautiful and delicious."

Nighttime is the right time -
A great time to enjoy nature is during a night hike - taking in all the sounds and smells. Or throw down a blanket and relax under the stars. If you have camping gear, use it right in the back yard! It's as fun as any forest - but with indoor plumbing!

Robert Bixler is a professor in the group of Parks, Recreation and Tourism management at Clemson University in South Carolina. He advises parents to cover a flashlight with red transparent film (to protect night vision) and have their kids try a nighttime insect hunt or the straightforward task of catching lightning bugs.

Fairy houses -
Other ideas come from children themselves. At eight years old, Skylar T. Of Fairfield, Connecticut hadn't lost a tooth. Craving a visit from a fairy, she built her first fairy house and has been hooked ever since. "Fairy Houses" are small habitats, built with natural materials (sticks, pinecones, seashells) and a child's imagination. They may be created anywhere, but the best ones blend in with their surroundings, so that they are approximately private (except from fairies on their nightly visits)! Children enjoy checking on their creations in the morning. "I want to see what they did, what they ate," says Skylar. She has made chairs, beds, swings and even puny cups, using the tops of acorns. "Just don't make them with features or leaves on a windy day!" Skylar advises.

Hiking with a purpose -
Ann Kinder of Lisle, Illinois finds letterboxing to be a great way to seek nature. "It's basically like a treasure hunt. people bury letterboxes and post clues online," says Kinder. Although you've probably never stumbled upon one, these puny boxes are private all over the country. Each package holds a rubber stamp, ink pad and a notebook. The "hunters" also carry a stamp, ink and notebook. When a letterbox is discovered the hunter gets to put their family stamp in the boxes' notebook, along with the date and their hometown.

They use the stamp from the box to mark their own notebook. "It may sound a puny strange, but I went with friends and their kids and we all had so much fun. We found 3 letterboxes that day," Kinder proudly reports.

Misha Galley is the mom of two sons, ages seven and 12 years. She describes this hobby as "hiking, treasure hunting, secret-keeping and a puny arts and crafts." Her family starts online, choosing letterboxes which have been private recently and have straight-forward clues. Then they head out following the clues, checking for specific markers, and sometimes counting their steps. "When you think you know where it's private you have to be truthful that any 'muggles' on the trail don't catch wind of what you are doing - it's a private activity," Galley adds in a whisper.

Calling all Junior Rangers -

Fran Mainella, is the old director of the National Park Service. She encourages young people to seek the junior ranger positions that are offered at many national and state parks. To become a "Junior Ranger" kids need to visit a park which supports this schedule and unblemished a series of fun and educational activities. Once they share their answers with a park ranger they receive an official Junior Ranger badge and certificate.

Down time -
Another idea comes from Dr. Susan Kuczmarski, author of The family Bond (McGraw-Hill). She sees big benefits for kids that enjoy what she calls "hammock time." "This means doing nothing. Daydreaming, hanging out, getting lost in your thoughts, doodling," says Kuczmarski. "Too much focus on busy activities and games leaves very puny time to dream, wonder, reflect, and discover," she adds. A quite spot under a shade tree, or a big umbrella at a around park, is the exquisite place to let your child sit and dream.

Whether your kids prefer to become junior rangers, or veg-out under a weeping willow, every person enjoys a trip to the local arboretum, botanical organery or forest preserve. While hiking a trail, kids simply find all sorts of things to keep their interest.

While historically, each year brought an addition amount of visitors to Us forest preserves, since 1987 there's been a steady decline. This drop is balanced by a rise in video games, movies and web surfing. When it comes to the future of our environment, this can't be viewed as a step in the right direction. However, with a puny planning and the sharing of ideas, we can turn the tide and get our kids out of the house, and back into nature.
